March of Dimes Walk

March of Dimes Walk

The March of Dimes walk is going to be taking place tomorrow and it will be the fortieth year of it happening. The whole idea behind the walk is to raise funds for the projects that the March of Dimes have been carrying out since they were first established. The first March of Dimes walk took place in the annum of 1970 and since then the popularity has been growing as the organization helps more and more families cope with the problems that come with having a premature baby.

The walk is most popular in Chicago where the organizers say that around two-thousand people show up at each walk though due to weather conditions that number can sometimes dwindle. The same weather factor reduced the turnout to some thirteen hundred walkers in the last round when weather conditions weren’t so ideal but sill people showed to show their support.

This years March of Dimes walk which will take place tomorrow is going to be held at nine in the morning though registration has to be done an hour earlier at eight. Another reason and objective behind the walk is to raise awareness about the problems children ca face for the entirety of their lives due to being born prematurely. The total distance of the March of Dimes walk tomorrow will be 6.2 miles and interested persons can show up at the Naperville Riverwalk at 736 West Jackson Avenue. This will be the fortieth annual walk by DuPage to raise funds for the organization.
